SAFHE was accorded membership of the International Federation of Healthcare Engineering (IFHE) in 1976 IFHE is a non-profit, non-governmental body established in 1970 to enable national engineering professional organizations to join in a world-wide federation. Membership of IFHE has spread to over thirty countries. IFHE is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, as a Non-governmental Organization in Official Relations with the WHO.
Individual membership of the SAFHE is open to engineers, architects, medical practitioners, technicians and technologists and other persons engaged in the broad field of healthcare engineering, architecture, and planning.
Corporate membership is extended to companies with interests in the healthcare engineering.
To provide a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences to improve healthcare services via its website, conferences, webinars, newsletters, and publications.
To assist individuals to further their experience and training in healthcare engineering and building design.
To collaborate with other organizations in advancing the quality of healthcare services.
To encourage greater collaboration between private and public health.
SAFHE collaborates with other associations and organizations with a shared interest in improving healthcare services.
CEASA is a voluntary association of Clinical Engineering practitioners. Our members practice at all levels within both state and private sector healthcare delivery systems in South Africa, also in the allied medical devices supply and support industry.
